Glenn Harrison lives and works in Sydney, Australia. Harrison studied Fine Arts at the National Art School, St George Campus in the 1980s.
My current work is a series of studio paintings made from studies from of the Cooks River between Wills Ground and Steel Park.
My objectives have been to capture the natural abstractness of the shapes formed by the vegetation along the river banks. Also, to build a visual narrative subtext relating to what was happening around the country at the time: fire, flood and disease.
Above all though, there is for me a preoccupation with the visual richness of the natural shapes and forms found in the Cooks River catchment environment.
